Gamification and game-based learning (GBL)
Escape rooms, serious games, training video games and gamified experiences that turn your message into something the team, or the clinician, lives rather than listens to. What you play, you remember.

01 · Game-based learning (GBL)
Play to learn, play to motivate, play to change behaviour
Gamification brings game dynamics, elements and mechanics into professional training. The aim is better results, by making training more engaging and more effective: it holds attention, raises motivation and commitment, and makes knowledge easier to take in.
As well as designing bespoke projects, we run live gamified sessions for cycle meetings, trade fairs and team awards: dynamics built on your content, with a facilitator and a live leaderboard, engaging hundreds of participants at once.

Motivation goes up
Bringing play into learning creates genuine interest and intrinsic motivation, and people take part actively rather than sitting through it.
Better results
Play does not only make learning enjoyable. Neuroscience has shown it improves retention of knowledge and skills, which shows up as better performance.
Deeper commitment
Through play, people take on challenges willingly, and that leads to behaviour change that lasts, tied to their own development goals.

02 · Why it works
Game-based learning: why it works
GBL, or a serious game, is not a game with content dropped inside it: it is training designed as a game. Every mechanic serves a learning objective — understanding the patient profile, handling objections, mastering product knowledge — and every session leaves data on what landed and what needs reinforcing.
Game-based learning works because it forces decisions: the player applies knowledge in simulated situations, gets immediate feedback, and repeats without the cost of getting it wrong for real. That turns content you forget into judgement that stays.

Field force training
Gamification works as an effective and less stressful method compared with roleplay, which matters especially in field force training.

It reduces anxiety and resistance, and encourages active, creative participation. Unlike conventional roleplay, which can intimidate some participants, gamification creates a relaxed setting that stimulates innovative thinking. Roleplay still matters in sales training, as it gives essential practice for real selling and negotiation situations. Adding a game approach makes that preparation more complete and more effective.

Communication and objection handling
Gamification stands out for developing communication and argumentation skills to handle objections, compared with traditional methods.

It turns learning into a more interactive experience and encourages active participation. Participants practise persuasion and argumentation in safe, simulated scenarios, which supports retention, creativity and critical thinking. Unlike conventional methods, gamification creates a dynamic, participative learning environment and improves how objections are handled.

Clinical sessions
Bringing gamification into clinical sessions is an innovative and effective way to involve healthcare professionals in training.

Clinical concepts and situations are presented in an interactive format, which encourages participation and interest. Healthcare professionals, used to more traditional training formats, tend to welcome the change. Playing games designed to simulate real clinical challenges improves their understanding and practical skills, and makes the learning experience more stimulating along the way.

Consensus meetings and advisory boards
Introducing gamification into consensus meetings or advisory boards is an effective way to raise participation and commitment among experts.

Turning conventional sessions into interactive experiences allows important scientific debate to be handled in a more dynamic way. It is particularly valued by experts used to traditional formats, because it offers a new angle for discussion and collaborative analysis. Participants engage more deeply with the topics, which encourages creativity, critical thinking and effective collaboration. It improves the quality of the agreements reached, and the retention of what was discussed.

Knowledge assessment
Gamification is an innovative approach to assessing knowledge, with clear advantages over traditional examination.

It reduces the stress that comes with assessment, because participants take part in an activity rather than sitting a conventional test under pressure. Turning assessment into a more engaging experience raises motivation, and also allows a more precise and more complete measure of understanding and skill. Assessment becomes less intimidating and more useful.
Clinical board games
Boards, cards, dice and pieces designed around your content: a mechanism of action, a condition or a patient journey turned into a game that is understood, and remembered, by playing it as a team.
Decision scenarios and roleplay
Simulated consultation or rep visit situations where the player chooses, argues and sees the consequences: safe practice of communication and objection handling, with less pressure than traditional roleplay.
Designed to be measured
Every challenge records correct answers, times and decisions: by the end of the session you know which concepts have landed and where to reinforce. The fun is the vehicle; the data is the result.

03 · Escape rooms
Escape rooms for healthcare training: on site, 2D and 3D
Our escape rooms make the therapeutic impact of a product easy to grasp and to practise: teams solve challenges against the clock, built on your own validated content.
Not all escape rooms are the same. We choose the format according to the objective, the venue and the number of participants, and sometimes we combine several in one event.

Presenciales
Physical dynamics at your stand, cycle meeting or workshop: hands-on challenges, face-to-face teamwork and a facilitator running the session. The best option for cohesion, for communication and for filling a congress stand (up to 70 people per wave).

Escape 2D
An online point-and-click adventure, light and accessible from any browser or device. Ideal for remote teams, tight cycle agendas and large rollouts with a central leaderboard: maximum reach with minimum logistics.

Escape 3D
Immersive environments that reproduce a consulting room, a hospital ward or a laboratory. Maximum presence and realism: the player explores the space, examines objects and applies clinical or product knowledge to move forward.

04 · Training video games
Arcade games and bespoke video games
Your training turned into a video game, cooperative or competitive, scalable across multiple units, sites and markets. Built on our own engine and editor.
Video games with short rounds, simple rules and fast learning, in the spirit of the arcade hall. Sixteen game mechanics available and a production time of 8 to 12 weeks. Each arcade is designed around your content — product, condition or process — with its own narrative, art and programming.
Two examples from this range: an educational adventure about childhood myopia, and the cooperative arcade that had a queue at a multinational’s stand during their cycle meeting.

Frequently asked questions
Before you play
What is the difference between game-based learning and gamification?
In GBL, or a serious game, the learning happens inside the mechanic. In gamification, the game motivates an activity that is not itself a game (points, leaderboards). At Inneva Pharma we design both, depending on the objective.
Can the content be changed without rebuilding the game?
Yes. In our video games the clinical content sits in a file separate from the mechanic. Changing a question after a label update does not require new development.
Is it compatible with the code of practice?
Content is designed as non-promotional and goes through the client’s medical or compliance team for validation before it is integrated.
Do you make games for companies in other sectors?
Our focus is cooperative games for health and pharma, but the methodology adapts well. We have built training dynamics and video games for education, insurance and technology. If your challenge is training through play, let’s talk.
Do you provide support or training to run the GBL solutions?
Yes. We provide supporting materials such as video tutorials and user guides, so facilitators can run our dynamics easily, even with no previous experience of gamification.
Are Inneva Pharma games customised for each client?
Yes. Our team adapts every project to the specific training needs, strategic objectives and content of the client. The experience is fully bespoke in design, narrative and materials.
